Three of our HS students, Owen Hubbard, David Tupy and Gerek Tupy, have been recognized by being selected for the Zone 3 Area All-State Senior High Chorus. This is a group that is made up of the best singers in grades 10-12 from a 6-county region consisting of Broome, Tioga, Tompkins, Cortland, Onondaga and Cayuga counties. Because this zone contains 54 school districts with some pockets of traditionally strong musical talent, including Ithaca and the Syracuse schools, being selected for these Area All-State ensembles is a prestigious honor. This selection is based on the students NYSSMA scores from the previous year, so this was a long process and required a lot of hard work and preparation. The went to Ithaca College this past weekend to spend two days rehearsing with a pair of highly respected guest conductors. The activities culminated with a performance on Saturday at IC’s Ford Hall – the campus’ largest concert hall. Congratulations!!
