The Whitney Point Hall of Fame is an Alumni Organization initiative that began in 2011, in conjunction with reviving the annual Alumni Banquet. The Hall of Fame was established to honor individuals who have made notable contributions to the Whitney Point School District educational program, another chosen profession, and/or our community.
Nominations can be made to recognize alumni, contributing community members, or former school district employees. In each case, the nominees should be an outstanding example of the community and the school district. An application process has been developed to make nominations for the committee to consider candidates for the Hall of Fame.
Applications for nominations for the 2024 Hall of Fame are available at the Mary Wilcox Library, the Whitney Point School District Office, and can be downloaded from the Alumni page of the school district's website. Online nomination forms can be found on the right side of this page. The Hall of Fame forms are current. We will continue to work to bring the rest of the webpage up to date.
Completed nomination forms should be received by August 15, 2024, for consideration by the selection committee. Whitney Point graduates from "way back when," recently, or somewhere in between, should use the link to be sure your information is included, and you are informed of current updates, activities, and opportunities to participate in planning and organizing. Please feel free to share the link with graduates that you know or to your graduating class as you plan your reunions.
We hope to keep all aware of the organization's activities and opportunities for you to become involved. We don't want anyone to be left out!
We have established the Whitney Point Alumni Association Scholarship Fund! The Whitney Point Alumni Association will award a scholarship of $1,000 to a graduating senior who is planning to pursue their education at an accredited college or university, recognized specialized trade school, or through a branch of the United States armed forces. The scholarship application is attached. If you have an interest in supporting the scholarship fund, a donation form is also attached. Thank you to all who have donated.
The Alumni Planning Committee has a schedule of meetings throughout the year. New participants are needed and always welcomed. We will share meeting announcements, updates on events, and ways for you to become involved through email (via our database) and social media.
If any information changes, please send an email to sblack@wpcsd.org to inform us of the change you desire. Your changes will then be updated within a few days. Additionally, any reunion information may also be sent to the above email address.
